Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released of official SSC GD Constable recruitment notification and will conduct the SSC GD 2026 exam to recruit cancidates for the post of Genderal Duty Constable for 25,487 vacancies in BSF, CISF, CRPS, SSB, ITBP, AR (Assam Rifles), SSF & NCB department. Candidates must check the complete syllabus & exam pattern and understand the important topics to preprare well for this exam.

Before diving into the syllabus & exam pattern candidates must know the selection process. Candidates much go through the each stage to be selected for the posts of SSC GD Constable. Here is the selection process:

Candidate will be Selected on the basis of 4 key stages which are Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by the Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standards Test (PST), Medical Tests, and finally, Document Verification.

  • Stage 1: It will be a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Stage 2: It will be a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) which assesses a candidate’s physical fitness, usually through running.
  • Stage 3: It will Physical Standard Test (PST) which involves checking physical standards such as height and chest measurements.
  • Stage 4: A medical check-up will be conducted to ensure the candidate’s physical and medical fitness.

The Written Exam Pattern for SSC GD Constable post is as follows:

  • Exam Mode: CBT (Computer Based Test).
  • Total Questions: 80.
  • Total Marks: 160.
  • Exam Duration: 60 minutes (1 Hour).
  • Marking Scheme: There will be a negative marking of 1/4th for every wrong answer.
  • Exam Language: The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in English, Hindi and 13 Regional Languages viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.
