What is ITBP:

ITBP is primarily responsible for Guarding the Indo-China border. Presently ITBP has been guarding the entire India-China border across five states which cover Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Arunachal Pradesh from the Karakoram Pass in Jammu & Kashmir to Jachep La in Arunachal Pradesh.

ITBP Motor Mechanic Constable Job Profile:

1. Key Responsibilities:

• Performing routine maintenance and repair of ITBP vehicles, including trucks, jeeps, motorcycles, and other transport vehicles.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues in vehicles and suggesting necessary repairs.
• Assisting in overhauling engines, transmissions, brakes, and other essential vehicle components.
• Ensuring timely servicing of vehicles to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.
• Conducting inspections to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and comply with ITBP standards.
• Maintaining records of repairs, servicing schedules, and spare parts inventory.

2. Skills Required:

• Knowledge of automobile mechanics, vehicle parts, and tools.

3. Work Environment:

• Inspecting work done by subordinate mechanics to ensure quality standards are met.
• Coordinating with higher officials to report the status of vehicles and workshop operations.
• Ensuring the availability of necessary tools, spare parts, and other resources.
• Training subordinates on new technologies and best practices in vehicle maintenance.
