Railway Group D – Selection Process 2026
- CBT Written Examination: The exam shall be a single stage Computer Based Test (CBT). Railway Administration however reserves the right to conduct the CBT in either single or multi stage mode.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates qualifying in the CBT shall have to undergo Physical Efficiency Test (PET).
- Document Verification: After CBT Exam and PET Test Selected candidates have to undergo the Document Verification process.
- Medical Examination: At this last stage candidates have to give medical examination.
Railway Group D – CBT Exam Pattern 2026
Candidates must check the complete syllabus & exam pattern and understand the important topics to preprare well for this exam. Railway Group D exam pattern 2026 is as follows.
- Total Marks: 100
- No. of Questions: 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)
- Exam Duration: 90 minutes (1 Hour 30 minutes)
- Marking Scheme: 1/3rd of the total marks (for the respective question) will be deducted for every wrong answer.
- Exam Language: The exam will be bilingual (English and the selected 2nd language during online application form). The candidates can select from the following languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

- One Time Registration: Click on the Apply-Now button below in the Important Links Section and Click on the Apply button and then click on Create An Account on the next page. Fill in the details and verify OTPs received on Text message and E-mail Account.
- Application Form: After Completing the Registration fill in the details in all steps.
- Upload Photo and Sign: Upload White background photo and your Signature.
- Submit Application: Preview the application form and pay the application fee online then final submit the application form.
- Take printout of application from after submission or else save as pdf.
