Eligibility criteria for CSIR UGC NET June 2026 Online Form is as follows:

  • M.Sc. or equivalent Degree OR

  • B.Pharma OR

Minimum Marks Required
  • General/OBC/EWS Candidates: Minimum 55% Marks
  • SC/ST/PwD Candidates: Minimum 50% Marks
Result Awaited (RA) Candidates

Candidates who are:

  • Enrolled in M.Sc. or equivalent qualifying degree programme, OR
  • Have completed the 10+2+3 academic pattern of the qualifying examination as on the last date of online application submission

are also eligible to apply under the Result Awaited (RA) category.

Condition for RA Candidates
  • Must complete the qualifying degree with the required percentage of marks.
  • The degree must be completed within the fellowship validity period of two years from the effective date of award.
  • An attestation form certified by the Head of the Department/Institute must be submitted.

The National Testing Agency (CSIR) conducts the UGC NET 2026 exam across 224 cities throughout India. Candidates can choose their preferred exam cities while filling out the NTA UGC NET application form.

  • Exam Mode: CBT (Computer Based Test). Multiple choice questions will be asked in every exam.
  • Total Marks: Each exam will be conducted for a total of 200 marks.
  • No. of Questions: Differ paper wise (check below table).
  • No. of Sections in each exam: There will be 3 sections in each exam, part Part-A, Part-B and Part-C.
  • Exam Duration: Exam duration for every exam is 3 Hours.
  • Exam Shirts: Thre will be two shifts in this exam. Shift 1 will be from 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and Shift will be from 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM.
  • Marking Scheme: The marking scheme differs for each paper and section. There is negative marking in most of the papers except for Mathematical Sciences’ Part-C. Check below table for more info.
  • Exam Language: The exam will be bilingual (English and Hindi language).

  • Registration: Click on the Apply-Now button below in the Important Links Section then on the next page click on “New Candidate Register Here”, check the instruction and proceed to next page. Register using any of the given method. Verify OTP and fill in the registration details on next page. Note You Application ID.
  • Receive Credentials: After successful registration, you will receive a password via SMS on your registered mobile number and a user ID via email.
  • Form Fill up: Fill in the required details, verify the E-Mail and complete the payment.
  • Submit Application: Preview the application form and final submit the form
  • Take printout of application from after submission and/or else save as pdf.
