Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General)Graduation: Any discipline / equivalent professional or technical qualification (recognized by Govt.) after Class XII, of at least 3 years’ duration, with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD). OR
Post-Graduation: Any discipline / equivalent professional or technical qualification (recognized by Govt.) after Graduation, of at least 2 years’ duration, with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPREssential Qualification:
(a) Economics: MA/MSc in Economics or related fields such as Quantitative/Mathematical/Applied/Business/Industrial/Development/International Economics, Econometrics, Financial Economics, or Agricultural Economics (with Economics as the principal constituent of syllabus). OR
(b) Finance: MA/MSc in Finance or related fields such as Quantitative/Mathematical/International/Business/Corporate/Project/Infrastructure/Agri Business/Banking & Trade Finance (with Finance as the principal constituent).
Marks Requirement: Minimum 55% aggregate (all semesters/years) from a recognized Indian/Foreign University/Institute 50% for SC/ST/PwBD.
Principal constituent = half or more of total courses including electives must be in Economics or Finance.
Desirable:
PhD in Economics, or research/teaching experience, or publications in standard Economics journals.
Additional Notes:
Age Relaxation:
M.Phil: +2 years
Ph.D.: +4 years
Master’s with teaching/research experience: Relaxation equal to years of experience (max 3 years; probation not counted).

Essential Qualification:
(a) Master’s Degree with 55% aggregate / equivalent CGPA in Statistics, Mathematics, Mathematical/Applied Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Econometrics, Informatics, or related fields from a recognized Indian/Foreign University/Institute (Govt./UGC/AICTE approved). OR
(b) Master’s Degree with 55% aggregate / equivalent CGPA in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data Analytics, or related fields from a recognized University/Institute. OR
(c) Four-year Bachelor’s Degree with 60% aggregate / equivalent CGPA in the above-mentioned subjects (Statistics/AI/ML/Data Science etc.) from a recognized University/Institute.
👉 Relaxation: For SC/ST/PwBD candidates – 50% marks (Master’s or Bachelor’s).
Desirable:
PhD in the relevant subjects (preference given).
Research/teaching experience or publications in standard journals.
Age Relaxation:

PhD: +4 years

The RBI Grade B selection process included three stages which are Prelims Exam and Mains Exam and Personal Interview. While the Officer Scale 1 (PO) exam will includes three phases Prelims, Mains exam and Personal Interview. All the candidate must clear both the exams for the selection in any of the recruited posts. Final selection will be based on Personal Interview. Selction process will be in the following sequence:

  • Prelims Written Examination (Phase I).
  • Mains Written Exam (Phase II).
  • Personal Inerview

The RBI Grade B Officer exam will be conducted in three phases: Prelims Exam, Mains Exam and Personal Interview. A candidate must clear all three stages to be selected the the Grade B Officer recruitment 2026 Here is the exam pattern:
